Chasing Reverbs

Hey there, my name is Martin, and I am a composer and producer of instrumental music based in Cologne, Germany. I release my songs under the artist name Chasing Reverbs and started this project during the pandemic in 2021. Rehearsing with my other bands was not possible at that time, but I wanted to make music and had some ideas lying around. So, I decided to learn all the skills necessary to share my work with the world. And that was no small feat: recording, mixing, mastering, distributing, as well as promoting music. After watching countless YouTube videos, my first song 'Yosemite' was released on February 17, 2021, and since then, I've added over 50 more. I remain fully independent as a DIY artist but have been collaborating with the small independent label Sky Valley Records since May 2023.

When I first contemplated the purpose of Chasing Reverbs, these lines came to mind, and they still aptly describe what I aim to achieve with my music:

"Maybe the world has always been a complicated place - but these days, we feel it more than ever.
Let these songs guide you out, just for a moment.
We long for simplicity. We need to calm our weary minds.
We’re searching for relief in between the notes.
We find fragments of peace in every tail of reverberance.
There’s enough buzz, noise, and fake news out there.
We don’t need words.
Let’s be quiet for a second — and rest.
This is the sound before the silence.
